Title: HiveMail Multiple Input Validation Vulnerabilities
Severity: MODERATE
Description:
HiveMail is a web-based message board implemented in PHP.
HiveMail is prone to multiple input-validation vulnerabilities because the application fails to properly sanitize user-supplied input. The issues include:
- A cross-site scripting vulnerability in the following scripts and parameters:
address.view.php: email, cond, name
index.php: dayprune
compose.email.php: data[to]
read.markas.php: markas
- An SQL-injection vulnerability in the 'fields[]' parameter of the 'search.results.php' script.
A successful exploit of these vulnerabilities could allow an attacker to compromise the application, access or modify data, steal cookie-based authentication credentials, or even exploit vulnerabilities in the underlying database implementation. Other attacks are also possible.
Version 1.3 is vulnerable to this issue; prior versions may also be affected.
Affected Products:
- HiveMail HiveMail 1.3
