Description:
ArGoSoft Mail Server is a mail-server application for Microsoft Windows environments. The software supports multiple remote access protocols, including SMTP, POP3, IMAP, and webmail.
The ArGoSoft Mail Server POP3 service is prone to a remote buffer-overflow vulnerability because it fails to properly bounds-check user-supplied input before copying it to an insufficiently sized memory buffer.
This issue allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary machine code in the context of the affected service. This service likely executes with SYSTEM-level privileges, so exploiting this issue will facilitate the complete compromise of affected computers.
