Title: Mandrake GnuPG Multiple Key Validation Vulnerability
Severity: HIGH
Description:
GnuPG is a free software package maintained by the Free Software Foundation, and shipped with Mandrake Linux distributions 7.0 and 7.1. GnuPG makes use of Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) to both encrypt and verify the validity of things such as files and email.
A problem with GnuPG version 1.0.3 and prior exists as implemented in the Mandrake Linux distribution. Files can be signed with one or more private keys to establish authenticity using the GnuPG package. The problem occurs with GnuPG verifying all the keys used to sign the package.
In the event that a file is signed with multiple keys, one or move invalid keys will still be reported as valid by GnuPG. The result is a compromised or invalid key used to sign a file will still be reported as valid.
Affected Products:
- MandrakeSoft Linux Mandrake 7.0.0
- MandrakeSoft Linux Mandrake 7.1.0
