Title: Open Searchable Image Catalogue Multiple Input Validation Vulnerabilities

Severity: MODERATE

Description:

Open Searchable Image Catalogue is a web-based gallery application for large image collections; it is implemented in PHP.

Open Searchable Image Catalogue is prone to multiple input-validation vulnerabilities. These issues are due to a failure in the application to properly sanitize user-supplied input.

- Multiple cross-site scripting vulnerabilities affecting the 'realname' and 'catalogue_id' parameters of the 'admin.php' script.

- Multiple SQL-injection vulnerabilities affecting the following script and parameter groups:

admin.php: realname, catalogue_id
search.php: query, cf_query, cfid, item_list

A successful exploit of these vulnerabilities could allow an attacker to compromise the application, access or modify data, steal cookie-based authentication credentials, or even exploit vulnerabilities in the underlying database implementation. Other attacks are also possible.

Open Searchable Image Catalogue versions 0.7 and earlier are vulnerable to these issues.

Affected Products:

  • Open Searchable Image Catalogue OSIC 0.7
