IntelliTamper is a spider application for scanning websites.
IntelliTamper is prone to a buffer-overflow vulnerability because it fails to properly validate the size of attacker-supplied data before copying it into a finite-sized buffer.
This vulnerability occurs when a malicious site map file ('.map') with an overly long line is opened.
Successful exploits allow remote attackers to execute arbitrary machine code in the context of applications that use IntelliTamper. Failed exploit attempts will likely crash the application, denying service to legitimate users.
IntelliTamper 2.07 is vulnerable; other versions may also be affected.
