Title: Online Universal Payment System Script Multiple Input Validation Vulnerabilities

Severity: MODERATE

Description:

Online Universal Payment System Script is an ecommerce application, written in PHP.

The application is prone to a directory-traversal vulnerability and a cross-site scripting vulnerability. These issues are due to a failure in the application to properly sanitize user-supplied input.

A directory-traversal problem occurs when specially crafted HTTP GET requests containing directory-traversal strings ('../') are sent to the 'read' parameter of the 'index.php' script.

An attacker can exploit this vulnerability to retrieve arbitrary files or directory listings from the vulnerable system in the context of the application. Information obtained may aid attackers in further attacks.

The 'read' parameter of the 'index.php' script is not properly sanitized for cross-site scripting attacks. An attacker may leverage this issue to have arbitrary script code executed in the browser of an unsuspecting user in the context of the affected site. This may help the attacker steal cookie-based authentication credentials and launch other attacks.
