Title: 312Soft PhP-Gallery Multiple Input Validation Vulnerabilities

Severity: MODERATE

Description:

PhP-Gallery is an image-gallery application, written in PHP.

PhP-Gallery is prone to an information-disclosure vulnerability and a cross-site scripting vulnerability.

For each of these issues, the application fails to properly sanitize user-supplied input.

For the information-disclosure vulnerability:

The problem occurs when specially crafted HTTP GET requests containing absolute paths are sent to the 'path' parameter of the 'index.php' script.

An attacker can exploit this vulnerability to retrieve arbitrary files or directory listings from the vulnerable system in the context of the application. Information obtained may aid attackers in further attacks.

For the cross-site scripting vulnerability:

The 'path' parameter of the 'index.php' script is not properly sanitized. An attacker may leverage this issue to have arbitrary script code executed in the browser of an unsuspecting user in the context of the affected site. This may help the attacker steal cookie-based authentication credentials and launch other attacks.

Affected Products:

  • 321soft PhP-Gallery 0.9
