Title: HB-NS Multiple Input Validation Vulnerabilities
Severity: HIGH
Description:
HB-NS is a web-based newscript application implemented in PHP.
HB-NS is prone to multiple input-validation vulnerabilities because the application fails to properly sanitize user-supplied input.
SQL-injection attacks are possible through the 'topic' and 'id' parameters of the 'index.php' script.
Cross-site scripting attacks are possible through the 'poster_name', 'poster_email', 'poster_homepage', and 'message' parameters of 'index.php'.
A successful exploit of these vulnerabilities could allow an attacker to compromise the application, access or modify data, steal cookie-based authentication credentials, and exploit vulnerabilities in the underlying database implementation. Other attacks are possible as well.
Affected Products:
- HB-NS HB-NS 1.1.6
