Title: @1 Event Publisher Multiple HTML Injection Vulnerabilities

Severity: MODERATE

Description:

@1 Event Publisher is an event-notification application implemented in Perl.

@1 Event Publisher is prone to multiple HTML-injection vulnerabilities. The application fails to properly sanitize user-supplied input before using it in dynamically generated content. Specifically, it fails to sanitize the following script and input field groups:

eventpublisher_admin.htm - Event, Description, Time, Website, Public Remarks
eventpublisher_usersubmit.htm - Event, Description, Time, Website, Public Remarks

Attacker-supplied HTML and script code would be executed in the context of the affected site, potentially allowing an attacker to steal cookie-based authentication credentials or to control how the site is rendered to the user. Other attacks are also possible.

Affected Products:

  • Upoint @1 Event Publisher 2003.12.18
