Title: Neon Responders Remote Clock Synchronization Denial of Service Vulnerability
Severity: MODERATE
Description:
Neon Responders is a companion application for LANsurveyor designed to aid in network resource management.
Neon Responders is susceptible to a remote denial-of-service vulnerability because it fails to properly handle malformed network packets.
This issue occurs when the application tries to process specially crafted clock-synchronization requests. These requests cause an access-violation error, which causes the application to crash. Remote attackers can thus deny further service to legitimate users.
Version 5.4 of Neon Responders for Windows is vulnerable to this issue; other versions may also be affected.
Affected Products:
- Neon Software Neon Responders 5.4
