Title: Asterisk JPEG File Handling Integer Overflow Vulnerability

Severity: CRITICAL

Description:

Asterisk is a private branch exchange (PBX) application available for Linux, BSD, and Mac OS X platforms.

Asterisk is prone to an integer-overflow vulnerability. This issue can allow a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code and gain unauthorized access to an affected computer.

Specifically, the issue affects the 'format_jpeg.c' file when the application allocates memory for reading a JPEG file. If a JPEG file greater than 65536 bytes is processed, an integer overflow occurs.
An attacker could exploit this vulnerability to execute arbitrary code in the context of the vulnerable application.
