Title: DbbS Multiple Input Validation Vulnerabilities

Severity: MODERATE

Description:

DbbS is a bulletin-board application written in PHP.

DbbS is prone to multiple input-validation vulnerabilities because the application fails to properly sanitize user-supplied input. The issues include cross-site scripting vulnerabilities and a command-execution vulnerability.

The cross-site scripting vulnerabilities affect the 'ulocation' and 'uhobbies' parameters of the 'profile.php' script.

The 'suntzu.php' script may allow a remote attacker to execute commands.

An attacker may leverage these issues to have arbitrary script code executed in the browser of an unsuspecting user in the context of the affected site. This may help the attacker steal cookie-based
authentication credentials, execute commands to compromise the server, and launch other attacks.

Affected Products:

  • dbbs.sup.fr DbbS 2.0
  • dbbs.sup.fr DbbS 2.0-alpha
