Title: PAJAX Multiple Arbitrary PHP Code Execution Vulnerabilities

Severity: HIGH

Description:

PAJAX is a framework that is used to create remote asynchronous PHP objects in JavaScript using XMLHttpRequest.

PAJAX is reported prone to multiple remote PHP code-execution vulnerabilities. These issues may allow an attacker to gain unauthorized access to a vulnerable computer by executing arbitrary PHP code.

The vulnerabilities exist because the application fails to properly sanitize user-supplied data. Reportedly, the 'method' and 'args' parameters of the 'pajax_call_dispatcher.php' script can be used to inject and execute arbitrary PHP code.

The 'className' parameter can be used with directory-traversal sequences to include and execute arbitrary '.class.php' files.

These issues may allow remote attacker to gain unauthorized access to a vulnerable computer in the context of the application.

PAJAX versions 0.5.1 is affected by this issue. Prior versions may be affected as well.

Affected Products:

  • PAJAX PAJAX 0.5.1
