Title: Gallery Arbitrary File Deletion Vulnerability
Severity: MODERATE
Description:
Gallery is prone to an arbitrary file deletion vulnerability.
This vulnerability is due to improper sanitization of user-supplied session cookie data. An attacker can exploit this vulnerability to delete arbitrary files in the context of the webserver process.
The session id variable is directly used as a filename, and attackers can supply directory traversal sequences. When the attacker-supplied filename points to an existing file, it assumes the file is an expired session and removes it.
This may result in various attacks such as data corruption and denial of service; other attacks are also possible.
Versions 2.0.0. through 2.0.2. are vulnerable to this issue.
