Description:
SuSE YaST Online Update (YOU) is a software update utility that facilitates the installation of software updates from an online repository.
The YaST Online Update is affected by a design error that could allow malicious scripts to bypass signature verification. The issue occurs because the script's signature-verification component uses a feature that wasn't intended for this purpose. This could allow any script to be supplied and executed by the YOU utility.
To exploit this vulnerability, an attacker would have to be able to manipulate a YOU mirror repository or perform a man-in-the-middle attack.
