Title: CGI Calendar Multiple Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerabilities

Severity: MODERATE

Description:

CGI Calendar is a freely available online calendar application.

CGI Calendar is prone to multiple cross-site scripting vulnerabilities. These issues are due to a lack of proper sanitization of user-supplied input.

The 'year' parameter is not properly sanitized when submitted to multiple pages, allowing an attacker to submit malicious HTML and script code through malicious URIs. These issues affect both the 'index.cgi' and 'viewday.cgi' pages.

An attacker may leverage these issues to have arbitrary script code executed in the browser of an unsuspecting user in the context of the affected site. This may facilitate the theft of cookie-based authentication credentials as well as other attacks.

Version 2.7 is vulnerable to these issues; other versions may also be affected.

Affected Products:

  • Jay Eckles CGI Calendar 2.7
