Title: cPanel Erredit.HTML Access Validation Vulnerability

Severity: HIGH

Description:

cPanel is a web-hosting control panel application implemented in PHP.

The application is prone to an access-validation vulnerability. The application fails to perform proper access validation on files edited with the 'erredit.html' administration script. An attacker may manipulate the 'dir' parameter of the 'erredit.html' page to view and edit any file accessible to the cPanel application.

This may result in a loss of integrity and confidentiality. The attacker may use this information in further attacks.

This issue is reported to affect cPanel version 10; other versions may also be vulnerable.

Affected Products:

  • cPanel cPanel 10
