Title: SPIP Multiple SQL Injection Vulnerabilities

Severity: MODERATE

Description:

SPIP is a web-publishing application implemented in PHP.

SPIP is prone to multiple SQL-injection vulnerabilities. The application fails to properly sanitize user-supplied input to the 'id_forum', 'id_article', 'id_breve' and other unspecified parameters of the 'forum.php3' script before using it in SQL queries.

Some unspecified session variables and user posts to 'petitions' are also vulnerable.

These vulnerabilities could permit remote attackers to pass malicious input to database queries, resulting in modification of query logic or other attacks.

Successful exploitation could allow an attacker to compromise the application, access or modify data, or exploit vulnerabilities in the underlying database implementation.

Versions prior to and including 1.8.2-e and 1.9 alpha 2 are vulnerable; other versions may also be affected.

Affected Products:

  • SPIP SPIP 1.8.2-d
  • SPIP SPIP 1.8.2-e
  • SPIP SPIP 1.9.Alpha 1
  • SPIP SPIP 1.9.Alpha 2
