Title: Symantec Sygate Management Server SMS Authentication Servlet SQL Injection Vulnerability

Description:
Symantec Sygate Management Server provides scalability, fault-tolerance, load-balancing, and security-policy replication. It is used to describe and report security policies that link users, connectivity technology, applications, and network communications. Sygate Management Server may be used with Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle databases.
Symantec Sygate Management Server is prone to an SQL-injection vulnerability. This issue is due to a failure in the application to properly sanitize user-supplied input.
The vulnerability specifically affects the SMS Authentication Servlet component of the server. A remote attacker can pass malicious input to database queries through HTTP GET requests, resulting in modification of query logic or other attacks.
Successful exploitation could allow an attacker to compromise the application, access or modify data, or exploit vulnerabilities in the underlying database implementation.
This issue can allow attackers to overwrite the password of any account on the server. This can facilitate a complete compromise if the attacker successfully overwrites the administrator password.
Sygate Management Server (SMS) versions 4.1 build 1417 and prior are affected.
