Title: Linux Kernel FIB_LOOKUP Denial of Service Vulnerability

Severity: MODERATE

Description:

The Netlink socket is a special IPC used for transferring information between kernel and user-space processes.

Linux kernel is prone to a denial-of-service vulnerability.

This issue arises in the 'net/ipv4/fib_frontend.c' file when the kernel handles specially crafted 'fib_lookup netlink' messages. Successful exploitation leads to illegal memory references and may allow remote attackers to trigger a denial-of-service condition.

Local exploitation may be possible as well.
