Title: MyBB Globa.PHP Cookie Data SQL Injection Vulnerability

Severity: HIGH

Description:

MyBB is Web forum software implemented in PHP utilizing a MySQL backend.

MyBB is prone to an SQL injection vulnerability. This issue is due to a failure in the application to properly sanitize user-supplied input.

The vulnerability presents itself when user-supplied input via cookie data is passed to the 'logon' parameter of the 'admin/globa.php' script permitting remote attackers to pass malicious input to database queries, resulting in modification of query logic or other attacks.

Successful exploitation can allow an attacker to bypass authentication and gain administrative access to a site.

Attacks may also result in disclosure or modification of data, or may permit an attacker to exploit vulnerabilities in the underlying database implementation.

MyBB 1.0 is reportedly vulnerable.

Affected Products:

  • MyBB DevBB 1.0.0
