Title: SPIP Multiple Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerabilities

Severity: MODERATE

Description:

SPIP is a Web based content management system implemented in PHP.

SPIP is prone to multiple cross-site scripting vulnerabilities. These issues are due to a failure in the application to properly sanitize user-supplied input to unspecified parameters of the 'spip_login.php3' and 'spip_pass.php3' scripts.

An attacker may leverage these issues to have arbitrary script code executed in the browser of an unsuspecting user in the context of the affected site. This may facilitate the theft of cookie-based authentication credentials as well as other attacks.

These issues affect version 1.8.2; other versions may also be vulnerable.

Affected Products:

  • GNU SPIP 1.8.2
