Title: IBM WebSphere Application Server Sample Scripts Multiple HTML Injection Vulnerabilities
Severity: MODERATE
Description:
IBM WebSphere Application Server is a utility designed to facilitate the creation of various enterprise Web applications. Various sample scripts are shipped with IBM WebSphere Application Server.
IBM WebSphere Application Server sample scripts are prone to multiple HTML injection vulnerabilities. These issues are due to a failure in the applications to properly sanitize user-supplied input before using it in dynamically generated content.
These issues affect the 'E-mail address' field of 'Login.jsp' of the '/PlantSByWebSpere/' sample script, the 'message' field of 'index.php' of the '/TechnologySample/BulletinBoard' sample script, the 'Email address' field of 'SubscriptionJSP.jsp' of the '/TechnologySamples/Subscription/' sample script and the 'Movie Name', 'Movie Reviewer' and 'Movie Review' fields of the '/TechnologySamples/MovieReview2_1/' sample script; other fields of other sample scripts may also be vulnerable.
Attacker-supplied HTML and script code would be executed in the context of the affected Web site, potentially allowing for theft of cookie-based authentication credentials. An attacker could also exploit these issues to control how the site is rendered to the user; other attacks are also possible.

- IBM Websphere Application Server 6.0.0
