Title: XMB Forum Member.PHP HTML Injection Vulnerability

Severity: MODERATE

Description:

XMB Forum is a web-based message-board application implemented in PHP with a MySQL database backend. It can be implemented on any platform that supports a PHP script interpreter and MySQL.

XMB Forum is prone to an HTML-injection vulnerability because it to properly sanitize user-supplied input to the 'Your Current Mood' field of the 'member.php' script before using it in dynamically generated content.

Attacker-supplied HTML and script code would run in the context of the affected site, potentially allowing the attacker to steal cookie-based authentication credentials or to control how the site is rendered to the user; other attacks are also possible.

Affected Products:

  • XMB Forum 1.9.2
  • XMB Forum 1.9.3
