Title: Azerbaijan Development Group AZDGDatingLite Directory Traversal Vulnerability
Severity: HIGH
Description:
AzDGDatingLite is Web based forum software implemented in PHP utilizing a MySQL backend.
AzDGDatingLite is prone to a directory traversal vulnerability. This issue is due to a failure in the application to properly sanitize user-supplied input.
The '/include/security.inc.php' script does not properly sanitize user-supplied input of directory traversal strings. An attacker can exploit this vulnerability by supplying directory traversal strings, followed by a filename and a NULL byte character and include an arbitrary local file.
The impact of successful exploitation will depend on the contents of the local included file.
Reports indicate an attacker may be able to exploit this vulnerability to execute arbitrary code. An authenticated user has the ability to upload image files to the vulnerable system. An attacker can abuse this ability to upload a malicious image file containing PHP code. Once the attacker has determined the directory location of the image file, the attacker can include the file through exploitation of the vulnerability and have the arbitrary PHP code executed in the context of the Web server process. This may result in information disclosure; other attacks are also possible.
