Title: 3Com Network Supervisor Directory Traversal Vulnerability

Severity: HIGH

Description:

3Com Network Supervisor is used to monitor services on multiple hosts. It is available for Microsoft Windows platforms.

Network Supervisor is prone to a directory traversal vulnerability. This issue is due to a failure in the application to properly sanitize user-supplied input.

The application fails to properly sanitize input supplied through HTTP GET requests. An unauthorized user can likely retrieve arbitrary files by supplying directory traversal strings '../' through a vulnerable parameter.

Exploitation of this vulnerability could lead to a loss of confidentiality as arbitrary files are disclosed to an attacker. Information obtained through this attack may aid in further attacks against the underlying system. It should be noted that all files on the affected drive can be disclosed by a successful attack.
