Title: Grandstream Budge Tone Denial Of Service Vulnerability

Severity: MODERATE

Description:

Grandstream Budge Tone telephones are voice over IP hardware devices providing voice communications over the IP protocol.

Grandstream Budge Tone telephones are prone to a denial of service vulnerability.

The denial of service attack is directed towards UDP port 5060. A single UDP packet with a length greater than 65534 bytes will stop the unit from functioning. Sending a single UDP packet with a length equal to 65534 bytes may cause the device to reboot.

This particular attack will cause a Grandstream Budge Tone telephone to malfunction by aborting any call currently in progress, rendering the display on the telephone inoperable, and causing the integrated HTTP server to stop responding. Switching the telephone off and on again will resume normal operation.

Affected Products:

  • Grandstream BudgeTone 101 0.0.0
  • Grandstream BudgeTone 102 0.0.0
