Title: Debian Apt-Cacher Remote Command Execution Vulnerability

Severity: HIGH

Description:

Debian apt-cacher is a caching system for Debian package and source files.

apt-cacher is prone to a remote command execution vulnerability. This issue arises due to insufficient sanitization of user-supplied data.

Specifically, the vulnerability can allow remote attackers to execute arbitrary commands on a computer that is acting as a caching host with the privileges of 'www-data'.

This may allow an attacker to gain unauthorized access to a vulnerable computer.

Due to a lack of details, further information is not available at the moment. This BID will be updated when more details become available.

Affected Products:

  • Debian apt-cacher 0.9.4
  • Debian apt-cacher 0.9.9
