Title: PHPFreeNews Multiple Cross Site Scripting Vulnerabilities
Severity: MODERATE
Description:
PHPFreeNews is a Web based news application written in PHP.
PHPFreeNews is prone to multiple cross-site scripting vulnerabilities. These issues are due to a failure in the application to properly sanitize user-supplied input to the following script and parameter pairs:
Footer.php - ScriptVersion
ScriptFunctions.php -NewsDir
ScriptFunctions.php- PopupWidth
ScriptFunctions.php- PopupHeight
An attacker may leverage these issues to have arbitrary script code executed in the browser of an unsuspecting user in the context of the affected site. These may facilitate the theft of cookie-based authentication credentials as well as other attacks.
