Description:
eDirectory is a directory server software package distributed by Novell for the Microsoft Windows platform.
Novell eDirectory is prone to an issue that could result in unauthorized access to a user's account. This issue results from a design error.
Specifically, the vulnerability affects the Novell Modular Authentication Service (NMAS) component of the Forgotten Password portal. An unauthorized attacker can change a user's password because the application fails to verify responses to challenge questions.
This can allow an attacker to ultimately gain access to a user's account.
eDirectory NMAS versions prior to 2.3.8 are affected.
