Title: Y.SAK Scripts Multiple Remote Arbitrary Command Execution Vulnerabilities
Severity: HIGH
Description:
Y.SAK Scripts are a set of Web scripts written in Perl.
Y.SAK Scripts are prone to multiple remote command execution vulnerabilities. These issues are due to a failure in the application to properly sanitize user-supplied input.
These issues arise when the user-specified 'no' URI parameter of 'w_s3mbfm.cgi', 'w_s3adix.cgi' and 'w_s3sbfm.cgi' is supplied to the Perl open() routine. The value passed in 'no' is used without proper sanitization to supply the path to a file in the open() call. An attacker can prefix arbitrary commands with the '|' character and have them executed in the context of the server; other attacks may also be possible.
Successful exploitation of any of these issues may facilitate unauthorized remote access in the context of the Web server to the affected computer.
