Title: RaXnet Cacti Graph_Image.PHP Remote Command Execution Variant Vulnerability

Severity: HIGH

Description:

RaXnet Cacti is a complete front-end to RRDTool, it is implemented in PHP and employs an SQL back end database.

Cacti is prone to a remote command execution vulnerability that exists in the 'graph_image.php' script. The issue is due to a bug in the input filters that leads to a failure in the application to properly sanitize user-supplied input. Specifically, input filters are applied against '$_REQUEST' which is a merged array of '$_GET', '$_POST', and '$_COOKIE' arrays.

An attacker may use array keys of the same name to overwrite other entries in the '$_REQUEST' array to bypass the input validation filters. This may be accomplished by injecting commands through an affected URI parameter and supplying valid data as a 'POST' or 'COOKIE' value in the same request.

If successfully exploited this issue allows attackers to execute arbitrary commands in the context of the server.

This can facilitate various attacks including unauthorized access to an affected computer.
