Title: Mambo Open Source Session ID Spoofing Vulnerability

Severity: MODERATE

Description:

Mambo is an open source Web based content management system. It is available for all platforms supporting PHP and MySQL including Unix and Unix like operating systems as well as Microsoft Windows.

Mambo is prone to a session ID spoofing vulnerability. This issue is due to a failure in the application to properly sanitize user-supplied input.

Through manipulation of 'administrator/index3.php' an attacker can spoof the session ID. This results in a loss of integrity and possibly confidentiality; other attacks may also be possible.

The vendor has addressed this issue in Mambo 4.5.2.2 and later; earlier versions are reported vulnerable.
