Title: Plans Display Type Variable Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerability
Severity: MODERATE
Description:
Plans is a Web-based calendar application.
A cross-site scripting vulnerability exists in Plans. The specific issue exists in the 'plans.cgi' script. The cause of the issue is that HTML and script code that have been supplied through URI input are not adequately sanitized before being output by the application. The affected variable is 'display_type'.
As a result, an attacker may execute arbitrary script code in the browser of an unsuspecting user in the context of the affected site. This would require the attacker to entice the user into following a malicious link that contains hostile HTML and script code.
Successful exploitation could result in theft of cookie-based authentication credentials as well as other attacks.
This issue is reported to affect Plans version 6.7.1; previous versions may also be affected.
Affected Products:
- Plans Plans 6.7.1
