Title: SPA-PRO Mail @Solomon IMAP Server Buffer Overflow Vulnerability
Severity: CRITICAL
Description:
SPA-PRO Mail @Solomon IMAP Server is a IMAP4 server for Microsoft Windows operating systems.
SPA-PRO Mail @Solomon IMAP Server is susceptible to a remote buffer overflow vulnerability. This issue is due to a failure of the application to properly bounds check user-supplied data prior to copying it to an insufficiently sized memory buffer.
This issue presents itself when an overly long argument is passed to the IMAP CREATE command. If an argument of more than approximately 260 bytes is passed to the CREATE command, adjacent memory will be overwritten with attacker-supplied data. The exact length of the data required to overwrite the memory buffer varies with the length of the mail directory name, as well as the length of the email username.
Remote attackers may exploit this vulnerability to execute arbitrary executable machine code in the context of the affected application.
