Title: Acrowave AAP-3100AR Wireless Router Authentication Bypass Vulnerability

Severity: HIGH

Description:

Acrowave AAP-3100AR wireless routers are both 802.11b wireless access points and ADSL routers.

Acrowave AAP-3100AR routers are susceptible to an authentication bypass vulnerability.

Specifically, if an attacker connects to the administration interface via telnet, and sends a control-C interrupt sequence, the device's administrative software will allow access without validating the supplied credentials. Sending a control-C sequence reportedly causes the authentication process to be interrupted.

This vulnerability allows remote attackers to gain administrative access to affected devices.

Due to code reuse, it is likely that other devices are also vulnerable to this issue.

Affected Products:

  • Acrowave AAP-3100AR Router 0.0.0
