Title: Invision Power Board Login.PHP SQL Injection Vulnerability

Severity: HIGH

Description:

Invision Power Board is Web forum software. It is implemented in PHP and is available for Unix and Linux variants and Microsoft Windows operating systems.

Invision Power Board is prone to an SQL injection vulnerability. This issue is due to a failure in the application to properly sanitize user-supplied input before using it in an SQL query. Specifically, the password hash contained in the user cookie is not properly sanitized before being assigned to the 'pid' variable of 'login.php'.

This vulnerability could permit remote attackers to pass malicious input to database queries, resulting in modification of query logic or other attacks.

Successful exploitation could result in a compromise of the application, disclosure or modification of data, or may permit an attacker to exploit vulnerabilities in the underlying database implementation.

This issue reportedly affects Invision Power Board versions prior to 2.0.4.
