Title: HP OpenView Radia Management Portal Remote Command Execution Vulnerability
Severity: CRITICAL
Description:
HP OpenView Management Portal using Radia is an enterprise IT Change and Configuration Management solution. It is commercially available for various platforms including UNIX, Linux, and Microsoft Windows.
A remote command execution vulnerability affects HP OpenView Radia Management Portal. This issue is due to a failure of the application to properly secure access to critical functionality. This is due to a directory traversal issue that will permit a remote user to execute any program on the same logical disk partition as the affected program.
Reportedly this issue arises when the affected Management Portal uses the Radia Management Agent. The specific issue is that an attacker may use dot-dot-slash (../) directory traversal sequences to break out of the working directory (C:\Program Files\Novadigm).
An unauthenticated, remote attacker may leverage this issue to execute arbitrary commands on an affected computer with Local System privileges on the Microsoft Windows platform and elevated privileges on UNIX-based platforms.
Affected Products:
- HP Radia Management Portal 1.0.0
- HP Radia Management Portal 2.0.0
