Axel is prone to a buffer overflow vulnerability in 'conn.c'. This issue presents itself when Axel handles HTTP redirection. A malicious HTTP response could overrun a static buffer, potentially allowing arbitrary code execution in the security context of the application.
This vulnerability was fixed in Axel 1.0b. All earlier versions are potentially affected.
