Title: All Enthusiast PhotoPost PHP Pro Multiple Remote Vulnerabilities
Severity: HIGH
Description:
PhotoPost PHP Pro is a web-based image gallery application written in PHP. It can be implemented on any platform that supports PHP script execution.
Multiple remote vulnerabilities affect All Enthusiast PhotoPost PHP Pro. These issues are due to a failure of the application to validate access rights and user-supplied input.
The first issue is an access validation issue that may allow attackers to manipulate thumbnails of images uploaded by arbitrary users. Apparently and attacker can invoke functions supported by the vulnerable application to change the properties of thumbnails of images uploaded. This issue can be exploited by crafting requests to the 'adm-photo.php' script, as that script fails to verify the authentication credentials of the requesting user.
The second issue is a cross-site scripting vulnerability that affects the 'editbio' parameter of the user profile form. Apparently HTML and script code passed to the application through this parameter will be rendered in dynamically generated content when a request is issued.
An attacker may leverage these issues to execute script code in an unsuspecting user's browser and to bypass authentication to execute certain application commands.
It should be noted that although only version 5.0 RC3 of the affected software is reportedly affected, other versions are likely affected as well.
