Title: ProjectBB Multiple Remote Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerabilities
Severity: MODERATE
Description:
ProjectBB is a bulletin board system implemented in PHP utilizing a SQL backend.
ProjectBB is reportedly affected by multiple cross-site scripting vulnerabilities. These issues are due to a failure in the application to properly sanitize user-supplied input. These issues are reported to affect the 'pages' parameter of 'drivers.php' and the text area of the search field.
Additionally the administrator account is susceptible to cross-site scripting attacks in the text areas of the forum name, and the site name in the options section, the maximum avatar size, and the new category and new forum fields of the forum section; other scripts and parameters may also be vulnerable.
As a result of these vulnerabilities, it is possible for a remote attacker to create a malicious link containing script code that will be executed in the browser of an unsuspecting user when followed. This may facilitate the theft of cookie-based authentication credentials as well as other attacks.
