Title: 427BB Multiple Remote HTML Injection Vulnerabilities

Severity: HIGH

Description:

427BB is a bulletin board system implemented in PHP utilizing a MySQL backend.

427BB is reportedly affected by multiple remote HTML injection vulnerabilities. These issues occur because the application fails to properly sanitize user-supplied input before using it in dynamically generated content.

These issues affect the avatar field and 'user' variables of 'profile.php'. Attacker-supplied HTML and script code supplied as part of the user profile would be able to access properties of the site, potentially allowing for theft of cookie-based authentication credentials. An attacker could also exploit this issue to control how the site is rendered to the user; other attacks are also possible.

These issues are reported to affect all versions of 427BB.

Affected Products:

  • 427BB fourtwosevenbb 2.0.0
  • 427BB fourtwosevenbb 2.0.1
  • 427BB fourtwosevenbb 2.1.0
  • 427BB fourtwosevenbb 2.1.1
  • 427BB fourtwosevenbb 2.1.2
  • 427BB fourtwosevenbb 2.1.3
  • 427BB fourtwosevenbb 2.2.0
  • 427BB fourtwosevenbb 2.2.1
