Title: RaidenHTTPD Multiple Remote Vulnerabilities

Severity: CRITICAL

Description:

RaidenHTTPD is web server software that is designed to be installed on the Microsoft Windows platform.

RaidenHTTPD is reported to multiple remote vulnerabilities. These issues can allow an attacker to disclose the source code of PHP files hosted on the server and execute arbitrary code to gain unauthorized access to a vulnerable computer.

The following specific issues were identified:

It is reported that a remote attacker can disclose the source code of any PHP file hosted on the server. This issue may be exploited using a specially crafted URI request and likely arises due to insufficient sanitization of user-supplied data. The information gathered through this attack may allow an attacker to gain access to sensitive data such as the logic behind an application and carry out other attacks.

A buffer overflow vulnerability is reported to affect the server as well. This issue presents itself because the application does not perform proper boundary checks prior to copying user-supplied data into sensitive process buffers. An attacker can trigger this condition by issuing a URI request that is longer than 524 bytes. If the attacker is able to corrupt process memory and execute arbitrary code, this issue may allow the attacker to gain unauthorized access to an affected computer.

It is reported that RaidenHTTPD executes with SYSTEM privileges; therefore a successful attack can lead to a complete compromise.

RaidenHTTPD 1.1.32 is reported vulnerable to these issues.

Affected Products:

  • RaidenHTTPD RaidenHTTPD 1.1.32
