Title: Working Resources BadBlue MFCISAPICommand Remote Buffer Overflow Vulnerability
Severity: CRITICAL
Description:
Working Resources BadBlue Web server is intended to facilitate the sharing of various resources over a network. It is developed for Microsoft Windows environments.
A remote buffer overflow vulnerability affects Working Resources BadBlue. This issue is due to a failure of the application to securely copy GET request parameters into finite process buffers.
The problem presents itself in the 'EXT.DLL' library when it attempts to process excessively long 'mfcisapicommand' parameter values. Apparently passing 250 characters through the offending parameter is sufficient to trigger the overflow condition.
An attacker may leverage this issue to execute arbitrary code with the privileges of the affected Web server, facilitating a SYSTEM level compromise.
