Title: Cyclades AlterPath Manager Multiple Remote Vulnerabilities
Severity: CRITICAL
Description:
Cyclades AlterPath Manager is a network device designed to facilitate remote administration of all network-accessible infrastructure resources.
Multiple remote vulnerabilities affect Cyclades AlterPath Manager. These issues are due to various design errors that affect the overall security of the vulnerable device.
The first issue is an information disclosure issue. This issue arises when an attacker navigates to the Web interface of an affected device. Apparently the Web interface will reveal Boot Version, Kernel Version, Config Version, OS Version, AP Version, and Hardware information about the device without requiring authentication. An attacker may leverage this issue to gain access to sensitive information that may facilitate further attacks against the affected device.
The second issue is an unauthorized access issue. This issue requires a user to have user access to the Web interface of the affected device. Apparently the application facilitates access restriction around console resources; it is possible to allow only specific users access to various console resources. Reportedly it is possible to bypass this access validation by specifying the name of any arbitrary console through the 'consolename' parameter of the 'consoleConnect.jsp' script.
An attacker may leverage this issue to gain unauthorized access to console resources.
The final issue reported is a privilege escalation issue due to an access validation error. This issue also requires a user to have user access to the Web interface of the affected device.
Apparently it is possible for a user to modify their own permissions through the 'saveUser.do' functionality. The 'saveUser.do' functionality responds to various URI parameters, including the 'adminUser' parameter that, when set to a value of 'true' and submitted, will grant the user administrator access to the Web interface.
This issue may be leveraged by an attacker to gain access to all network resources managed through the affected device.
An attacker may leverage these issues to gain unauthorized access to network-based resources, to gain escalated privileges and to gain access to potentially sensitive information.
It should be noted that although only version 1.1.0 of the software is reported affected by these issues, it is likely earlier versions are affected as well.

- Cyclades Corporation AlterPath 1.1.0
