Title: XGB Authentication Bypass Vulnerability

Severity: MODERATE

Description:

xGB is guestbook software. It is written in PHP and will run on most Unix and Linux variants as well as Microsoft Windows operating systems.

xGB is reportedly affected by a vulnerability that could permit unauthorized administrator access. This issue is due to the application failing to properly verify user credentials in 'xGB.php'. This could permit an attacker to access administrator functions without logging in first.

A malicious user could exploit this vulnerability to bypass user authentication and gain administrative access.

This vulnerability is reported to affect xGB version 2.0; earlier versions may also be vulnerable.

Affected Products:

  • x-dev xGB 2.0.0
