ReviewPost PHP Pro is a web based bulletin board application written in PHP.
ReviewPost PHP Pro is reported to be prone to multiple vulnerabilities resulting from improper input validation. Remote attacks can carry out SQL injection, cross-site scripting attacks as well as upload arbitrary files to a vulnerable server.
The following specific issues were identified:
It is reported that the application is prone to multiple SQL injection vulnerabilities that may allow a remote attacker to inject arbitrary SQL queries into the database used by the application. The issues exist due to insufficient sanitizing of the 'cat' parameter of the 'showcat.php' script, and the 'product' parameter of the 'addfav.php' script. This could permit remote attackers to pass malicious input to database queries, resulting in modification of query logic or other attacks.
Various cross-site scripting vulnerabilities have been identified in the application as well. These issues present themselves due to insufficient sanitization of user-supplied data passed through the The issues exist due to insufficient sanitizing of the 'cat', or 'page' parameters of the 'showproduct.php' script, the 'si' parameter of the 'showcat.php' script, and the 'report' parameter of the 'reportproduct.php' script. It may be possible to steal the unsuspecting user's cookie-based authentication credentials, as well as other sensitive information. Other attacks may also be possible.
A file upload vulnerability may allow remote attackers to upload and execute arbitrary scripts on a vulnerable computer. The cause of the vulnerability is an input validation error that is exposed when a user uploads an image. Reportedly, if the file is named with multiple extensions, the application allows the file to uploaded during the creation of a new review. This vulnerability could allow an attacker to upload a malicious PHP script to the server and execute it. Successful exploitation will result in execution of arbitrary code in the context of the Web server.
