Title: KorWeblog Remote File Include Vulnerability
Severity: HIGH
Description:
KorWeblog is prone to a vulnerability that may allow attackers to influence the include path for external files.
The vulnerability exists in '/install/index.php' and is exposed through the 'lng' URI parameter. If the 'register_globals' PHP directive is on, it is possible to set the 'lng' variable to an arbitrary value, letting the attacker set the path for external scripts that are called using the PHP include() function. Depending on other PHP directives such as 'magic_quotes_gpc' and 'allow_url_fopen', it may be possible to include arbitrary local or remote files.
In the case of local files, this may expose sensitive information. In the case of remote files, it is possible to include a malicious PHP script from a remote source. This would occur in the context of the Web server hosting the software.
Affected Products:
- KorWeblog KorWeblog 0.0.01.6.2-cvs
- KorWeblog KorWeblog 1.6.1
