Title: Xine-Lib Remote Client-Side Buffer Overflow Vulnerability

Description:
xine is a freely available multimedia player designed for Unix/Linux variants. There is also a xine-lib, which is a C library that may be used to develop third party multi-media application.
It is reported that the xine media library is affected by a remote buffer overflow vulnerability. This issue can allow a remote attacker to gain unauthorized access to a vulnerable computer. The overflow condition presents itself in the 'demux_aiff.c' file.
Specifically, this vulnerability manifests itself in the 'open_aiff_file()' function when an arbitrary amount of data specified in a file is read into a finite stack-based buffer. If a user opens a malicious file using a media player that is linked to the affected library, the attack may lead to a denial of service condition or remote code execution.
