Description:
3CDaemon is a TFTP, FTP, and Syslog daemon it is available for Microsoft Windows platforms. 3CDaemon is developed and maintained by 3Com.
3CDaemon TFTP service is reported to be prone to a remote denial of service vulnerability. The vulnerability presents itself when any command is invoked that contains a filename parameter that exceeds 512 bytes. When such a command is handled, the 3CDaemon will fail reporting opmode 0x01.
A remote attacker may exploit this vulnerability to deny service to legitimate users. Although unconfirmed, due to the nature of this vulnerability the issue may potentially be further leveraged to execute code in the context of the affected software.
